The houses in Buckner Historic District were built between 1930 and 1941 to house military officers and their families on base. Each home embodies the Spanish Colonial Revival design that was popular at the time, featuring terracotta roofing and stucco exteriors. Today, the Historic Buckner District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and follows strict preservation measures.

Cane Creek Community Gardens is a 17 acre site owned by the Calhoun County Commission in partnership with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Calhoun County Master Gardeners volunteer to do most maintenance at the site as a service to the community, and they operate a greenhouse for demonstration and fundraising with several educational meetings per month.

The Fort McClellan Military Cemetery was established in 1918 and is the resting place for 441 U.S. military personnel and civilians. In 2017, the cemetery underwent renovations for headstone realignments, and in 2020, the cemetery was transferred to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It is currently maintained by Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

The German Italian Memorial Cemetery at McClellan is a historic landmark at McClellan, where 26 German soldiers and 3 Italian soldiers are buried. When these soldiers died, they were given the same rights as an American soldier, including proper headstones. Every November, military officers from Germany and Italy are invited to perform a wreath-laying service, which is open to the public. It is currently maintained by Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

The Monteith Amphitheater is a historic event venue built in 1937 and was used to activate the U.S. Army's 92nd Infantry Division in 1942, the second African American ID established during WWII. During Fort McClellan's operation, the theater hosted fight exhibitions, Broadway shows, and concerts. Call (404) 408-7210 for booking information.
